Denigrata, The Holy Sepulture, Northampton, 21/11/15

So last night I was invited to The Holy Sepulchre in Northampton for Denigrata's album launch. The stunning building was perfect for the crushing sound and visually captivating candlelit set performed by the avant gaurd, black metallers from the same city. The haunting vocals with piercing screams and deep growls teamed with technical blasts had people headbanging as the images behind the band, composed by Matt Vickerstaff, had me wide-eyed and in a trance-like state. The dim red lighting seemingly shining through the huge church window to my left created an alluring atmosphere as the candles flickered until the band finished in darkness to a huge round of applause. A fantastic night all round.
